shawl fringes, inspired navy strings and paisley kashmir fabrics.

this last thing -the kashmir fabric- is a new discovering of mine. with a little research I've found out it was the most common fabric used for shawls between 1780 and 1880 even if the fabric was first created during 1500.
The motif was originally a single flowering plant complete with roots, inspired by English herbals but then it gradually developed into the stylized cone-shaped motif known as the boteh, which was also known as the Paisley pine.

regarding its meaning, the pattern can be traced back to ancient Babylon, where a tear-drop shape was used as a symbol to represent the growing shoot of a palm. The palm provided food, drink, clothing (woven fibers) and shelter, and so became regarded as the ‘Tree of Life', with its growing shoot being gradually recognized as a fertility symbol.

new scarves

coming back from an intense week, I would like to dedicate this post to new entries on PLURIBALL CREATIONS.
I've been sewing a lot for a little market I was invited to attend.
I'm really into scarves nowadays -could it be because winter weather is finally coming?- so I present here two of the ideas I've realized.

first: double face scarf made one side by waterproof facric and the other side is velvet.

you can wear it as a normal -big- scarf or use it above your head to protect your hair from rain. I've added also some buttons on the side so it is possible to close it and wear it as a cowl neck scarf with a double turn around the neck. it can be really warm!

second: dark green wool scarf with two buttonholes to wear around the neck more or less tight.

hello everyone, I have to apologize so much for being absent all the week! I'm working late and sewing a lot in the spare time so I had problem even remembering to breath sometimes!
after this week things will slow down a bit -I hope- and I'll show you all my new creations..
anyway to animate this post I'm glad to present you two new vintage bags I've found these last weeks. I'm really proud of them, not only because the brands (actually I'm not so sure they're original, especially one..)but more because I think they're two wonderful pieces to add to my collections, so different and so unique!
enjoy and if you have any comment..please tell me!

precioso regalo

a couple of days ago I've received a late b-day present that really touched my heart! it comes from Barcelona where two twins sisters have decide to join forces in the les jumelles project. little old treasures with lost memories having birth again with new necklaces to arrive wherever they could be wanted to tell their stories.
this is my new little jewel:

so I propose a post for LINK à LA MODE this week, and even if I haven't been chosen, it is a great thing for PLURIBALL. I promise to myself to try more and more because that feeling of "stepping up" was so good to me:)
I had a look to the editorial mixture they have presented this week and it seemed that one of the biggest theme was the "costumizing and personalizing style", I love it! about that some days ago I've decided to change a little one PLURIBALL creation I've realized some months ago. it is a bow-cotton-necklace and it seemed to me it had something less than it could. so I have thought to add some parts of a silver chain that broked some time ago. it was one of my favourite ones so I've thought that using it that way I was recycling plus adding some personal touch to one of my creations and it feeled so good..:)
that is the result, I hope you'll like it!

one of the things I like the most -and that scares me the most at the same time- about the "fashion" issue as I like to name it, is the fact that everytime I dare thinking I've all under control suddenly appears something -or someone- absolutely surprising and -until this exact moment- unknown. at least for me.
today is Juanjo Oliva's turn.
directly from Madrid's catwalks I've discovered this talented designer thanks to one of his captivating garments that I had cut out of the paper after it winked me..the charged garment is the following one:

He had a starting carrer as designer and fashion illustrator and he also opened his first store in Madrid during the end of the 1990's.
these are some of my favourites garments he realized through the years.

today's pick.

I don't do designers presentations or "the editor's pick" so often here in PLURIBALL 'cause I'm usually try to express more my point of view, my process of creations -if possible to say that!-, including inspirations sources or just nonsense things I fall in love with as often as I breath.. it doesn't mean I've not my eyes wide open everysecond of the day looking for the amazing designers you can read about or see works in internet or events or wherever. today I would like to present something I just found out, what I think is a very creative point of view.
since is really cold outside I went discovering winter pieces without even realize that.

camilla wellton is a swedish designer. she is a polyhedric artist as she studied a lot of different things in her life until now and for that, I think, se has an approach to fashion that is really original and inspirational. she is able to realize different shapes in her garments, combining various elements: the discreet elegance of the figure, the rational geometry, the minimalist choice of colours and the artisan, made-to-measure, skill behind all that. she is also very eco-friendly not only for the use of organic fabrics but also because she gives part of her profit to a Swedish organization promoting agroforestry and the planting of new trees.

she wants her ideal woman to feel chic and comfortable at the same time and, if this goal wasn't enough, she also wants to provide that with a high quality of the garment itself.
I think these coats are gorgeous. tres chic, with a beautiful, harmonic figure, a very original shape and a little drop of melancholic atmosphere I love to see in a "winter" piece.

yesterday night I was cooking my dinner while I had a strange "epifany" realizing how much I like saffron! it not only because it comes in this little folded bags that are so retrò, also because its colour is never just one, quite the contrary it is a sort of little chromatic range from a dark spicy red to a deep yellow.. above all that when you pour saffron it change immediately!
I consider saffron a very autumnal shade so I had the idea of searching some images or pictures that took inspirations from this colour. now that I've collected them .. this is it!

halloween ..late!

unfortunately I didn't celebrate halloween this year.. I wasn't feeling well and there was really nothing special to do..it is not still a tradition here in Italy and so every year I'm between my love for costumes and the hate for this kind of " commercial festivity" out there.. talking about fantasies and dreams if next year would be a great halloween party I'd love to attend wearing one of these dresses:
